LEVEL 1 FIREARMS INSTRUCTION COURSES
NOTE: (completing any one of the courses below in Level 1 Instruction
qualifies for certification (certificate issued by TAC instructor) and for
student to apply for a concealed
weapons permit subject to compliance with Chapter 790 Florida Statutes and pursuant
to Chapter 790.06 specifically.)
Florida Concealed Firearms & Weapons Permit
Training: mandated requirements to
obtain a concealed weapons permit in Florida. Valid and
reciprocity in 28 other states. Course fee includes training, certificate,
notary seal, & fingerprints only. You must be 21 years of age or older to
attend and show some proficiency handling a firearm. This is not a beginner’s
course (see below) and Not
an NRA Certified Course. Your Instructor is a State “K” Licensed
Firearms Instructor.
Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and
Safety Training (FIRST) Steps Course: an NRA Certified Course
(NRA certificate presented at course completion)*
Beginners Firearms Training Course
designed for prospective, & new
owners of a specific Pistol,
Revolver, or Shotgun that wish to learn to use it properly & safely.
Basic Pistol Shooting (Semi-auto,
Revolver, Top-break,): an NRA Certified Course (NRA certificate
presented at course completion)*
Firearms Training
Course designed for the first time or current handgun owner interested in
improvement in fundamental skills with all types of handgun firearms, thus providing a
higher standard of expertise overall, and/or persons interested in
marksmanship and possible competition qualifications available through NRA
Training after completion. THIS COURSE INCLUDES ONE YEAR OF NRA MEMBERSHIP AT
NO EXTRA CHARGE. (a $35 dollar value).
Basic Shotgun Shooting (Semi-auto,
Pump, Breach action): an NRA Certified Course (NRA certificate
presented at course completion)*
Firearms Training
Course designed for the first time or current shotgun owner interested in
improvement in fundamental skills with hunting, sporting, & tactical
types of shotgun firearms, thus
providing a higher standard of expertise overall, and/or persons interested
in marksmanship and possible competition qualifications available through NRA
Training after completion. THIS COURSE INCLUDES ONE YEAR OF NRA MEMBERSHIP AT
NO EXTRA CHARGE. (a $35 dollar value).
Home Firearms Safety Course (for
Families): an NRA Certified Course (NRA
certificate presented at course completion)
Course designed to instruct
the head of household/spouse, and the entire family (all ages welcome) about
home firearm operation safety, what not to do, correct handling of firearms
and ammunition, and safe storage possibilities in the home. Held at the home.
(This course is included with a Personal Defense in the Home course).
NRA Eddie Eagle GUNSAFE® Program presentation video
(Stop, Don’t Touch, Leave the area, Tell an Adult) available for younger
children to watch during range exercises. After completion, all members in attendance
over 21 can be certified to apply to obtain a concealed weapons permit
pursuant to Chapter 790.06 Florida Statutes after completing competency
requirement at Range.
Practical Carry Tactics for Personal
Defense Weapons, Concealed Carry Firearm Retention, & Secure Vehicle
Storage Environments (not an NRA certified course)
Personal one-on-one assistance on how to select the correct equipment for
your specific purpose and the best practices for safe carry or deployment in
the real world.
NRA “Eddie Eagle” GUNSAFE® Program an NRA Safety Course designed to teach
children not to touch firearms without proper parental supervision and (stop,
don’t touch, leave the area, go tell an adult training) to act quickly &
correctly if they should find one on their own. The video presentation,
“Learn Gun Safety with Eddie Eagle” and 1 hour of an instructor’s time for
seminar discussion is available free of charge to educators, youth groups,
and schools desiring to offer this instructional video presentation to their
students. All persons or groups interested in the full program should contact
us for further information on complete program materials costs, training
requirements, and time schedules. This course’s video presentation is included
in the Home Firearms Safety Course (for families) above.
LEVEL 2 FIREARMS INSTRUCTION COURSES
Personal Protection in the Home Course:
an NRA Certified Course (NRA certificate presented at course completion) Pre Requisite Required.
Moderately advanced
personal defense training for the trained civilian pistol or shotgun operator
that is designed to increase your awareness level and improve the necessary
skills required when responding to a violent confrontation or defending your family
and home with a firearm against invasion by unknown assailants. Specific course lessons teach
awareness levels, confrontational and defensive strategy, differences in
cover and concealment, proper use of cover in the home, moving to and from
cover or concealment, shooting quickly with accuracy, firearms law inc.
Castle Doctrine, tactical reloading, backstop
awareness, flash sight picture techniques, use of hand lighting and laser
sights for home defense, and more. Must be an NRA member or join here to
attend. (Trusted Armament is an authorized recruiter for the National Rifle
Association). Other pre-requisite course above and equipment is required to
attend. See chart below for more information.
State Required Initial Security / Bodyguard
“G” License Firearms Course (State required
certificate to obtain “G” license presented at course completion. Not an NRA Certified Course
Course consists of
state required initial 28 hours (24 classroom hours / 4 practical range
hours) curriculum to train D or C licensed personnel to obtain a Statewide
Class G Firearms license. Course
administered by Class “K” State Licensed Firearms Instructors.
State Required continuing education for “G”
license renewal (State of Florida DACS
form 16005 presented upon completion).
Course consisting of 4
hours of range re-qualification every year as per the state required
curriculum to maintain a Class G Statewide Firearms License. Required every
12 month period (twice) for every two year renewal period. Course administered by Class “K”
State Licensed Firearms
Instructor. Not
an NRA Certified Course
Use of Force Weapons and the Law: a
Trusted Armament certified course (TAC certificate of completion)
Course is based on the Use of Force Matrix used by FDLE & Other
police departments statewide. Main course emphasis is placed on Florida State law Chapter 790 & police
powers differences as they pertain to firearms use. Topics include: Alternative
weapon types and accessory products, T-Up (transitioning up) to firearms,
Proper deployment of the X26c or C2 Tasers, ASP Baton, fixed and folding
Blades, Pepper Sprays, restraint devices and techniques, transitioning to
firearms from other devices. When does
it become reasonable to transition boundaries from less-lethal force to
lethal weapons to preserve your life, or that of others around you? Is
restraint, stopping, or shooting someone that has committed a violent crime
legal? What is the difference between violent and non-violent crime? What is
the law as it pertains to firearms and other possible weapons (concealed or
visible)? What are the perpetrators rights? When does the criminal become the
victim? Answers these questions and more. Pre-requisite required – for
civilians: Basic Pistol Shooting Course (at minimum) / Private professionals:
G license training or Basic Pistol Shooting Course. Course administered by a State Licensed Class C & G Executive
Protection Bodyguard and Class K Firearms Instructor. Not an NRA Certified Course
LEVEL 3 FIREARMS INSTRUCTION COURSES
Personal Defense in Public Places:
a Trusted Armament certified course (TAC certificate of completion) Pre Requisite Required.
Advanced course for
civilian, private law enforcement, and private security firearms operators
wishing to improve and hone their threat assessment skills and the ability to
handle a violent confrontation or attack on themselves. This course covers
dealing with police and investigators in the aftermath of a shooting
incident, entering and exiting vehicles, and plus tactical maneuvers designed
to keep you out of harms way and help you win the first shot. Cover and
concealment drills and shooting around objects are just some of the necessary
features of this advanced course of fire. Pre-requisite required – both
civilian basic & advanced courses, or, a 28 hour G license course is
required to attend. Course
administered by a State Licensed Class C & G Executive Protection Bodyguard
and Class K Firearms Instructor. Not an NRA Certified Course
Personal Defense in Reduced Lighting: a
Trusted Armament certified course (TAC certificate of completion) Pre Requisite Required.
Advanced firearms
course for civilian firearms operators, private law enforcement, bodyguards,
private security, and use of force operators designed to teach practical
firearms defense in reduced lighting and night. Practical course topics
include proper use of cover, laser and tritium sights, flashlight techniques,
muzzle flash recovery techniques, and interior vehicle discharge at night.
Pre-requisite required – basic, advanced course or 28 hour G license course
required to attend. This course is
a pre-requisite for Executive Protection 101 for Class C & G Licensed
Bodyguards. Course administered by a
State Licensed Class C & G Executive Protection Bodyguard and Class K
Firearms Instructor. Not
an NRA Certified Course
Executive Protection 101 a
Trusted Armament certified course (TAC certificate of completion) Class C & G State
License required to attend.
Highly advanced course for licensed professionals wishing to become executive
protection bodyguard agents. Threat level awareness assessment, strategic
planning, tactical field surveillance, threat submission, principal
shielding, vehicle route mapping, GPS location tracking, covert two-way radio products & use,
diversionary tactics, less- lethal weapon products & use, ASP baton use
& restraint techniques, use of reasonable & necessary force (use of
force matrix), what is considered “reasonable force” when protecting your
client from bodily harm or death, protection of client’s personal property,
submission holds, disabling strikes & techniques, ambush scenario
assessment, proper takedown & handcuffing techniques, concealed firearm(s) carry and deployment,
vehicle transportation ingress & egress, and protecting yourself
contractually with your client from a rebuffed attacker’s lawsuit; makes up a small portion of this extensive
practical hands-on course for beginners in the Executive Protection
Profession. Course administered by a
State Licensed Class C & G Executive Protection Bodyguard and Class K
Firearms Instructor. Not
an NRA Certified Course
NRA Certified Law Enforcement Instruction Operator’s Course:
